Burgundy Region |
| This is the Holy Land of wine. Although the Romans brought viticulture to the region, it was the centuries of careful experimentation, exploration and observation by the Benedictine monks which led to the creation of the great Burgundies we know today - Gevrey-Chambertin, Clos de Vougeot, Vosne Rosmanée, Nuits-Saint-Georges – to name a few. The monks discovered the best grape variety for each tiny plot of land, revealing the mysteries in a complex patchwork of tiny terroirs, each with its own natural character, or “expression”, as the French say. The wines beguile the amateur and fascinate the professional, but the landscape is also magical – a compact area of rugged escarpments and gentle hills, small villages and quiet roads, Burgundy is as enchanting as its wines. |

Domaine Séguinot-Bordet Vineyard
Code: WWXSEGU
Chablis is one of the most famous wines in the world. It is steely and dry and, like all fine white Burgundy, made from Chardonnay grapes. Winemaker Béatrice Dubois is also a ‘flying winemaker’, regularly jetting off to help make wine in Chile and Australia! They make wines with many famous names from the Côte d’Or region of Burgundy, and our exclusive cuvée is from the renowned Nuits-Saint-Georges appellation.
