Harmonising traditional glassmaking skills with the latest technology, the stem is literally ‘pulled’ from the bowl as it is being made, creating its beautifully smooth transition from bowl to base. This technique results in a much stronger glass as only one joint; between stem and foot is needed.
Not that its elegant lines in any way compromise the fundamental Riedel concept of glasses as instruments, as loudspeakers for the notes given off by the wines they hold. The Vitis range, as with all Riedel glasses, is designed to emphasise and complement the characteristics of each of the main grape varieties.
