Sphera Wine Aerator

The Sphera Wine Aerator is made entirely of metal with several fairly deep crevices on the surface which are silver plated.
Place the aerator in the neck of the decanter and pour wine onto the globe/sphere. The wine is forced to pass through the crevices: thus creating a considerable surface contact between the wine and the silver plating.
By doing this, the unpleasant smells which can interfere with appreciation and analysis of the wine’s aroma are eliminated and the oxygenation process is encouraged to begin and will continue inside the decanter.
The small handle can be removed by unscrewing and the sphere can then be used as particular elegant stopper for many kinds of decanters. |

The funnel is supplied with a special stainless steel filter which has a dual function:
- it removes the deposits that sometimes form at the bottom of old wines (thus giving extra help to those who are not so skilled in the art of "decanting")
- it slows the flow of the wine, thus allowing greater time for the oxygenation of the wine to take place.

A wine can be considered to be young for the first 2-3 years after bottling. It is then ’hibernating’. It must be awakened before serving if it is to reveal its full personality. The aerator disperses the wine freely over a wide area of the decanter walls, accelerating oxygenation to ensure better release of aromas.
