All Traditional Racks, whether for Standard sized bottles, Halves or Magnums can be made to your required size. Racks can be made to fit your available space so please phone, fax or email your requirements including measurements and plans if available, and we’ll be happy to advise you how many bottles you can fit and the price. These types of wine racks can be constructed to suit a customers own particular wine storage requirements, in order to fit any space, in any shape or form.
The Wineware standard winerack will accommodate all bottles of the normal 75 cl size, including quart and half-bottles of champagne, and additionally, it is possible to manufacture a winerack to hold half-bottles or magnums only. The single depth wine rack (225 mm) is the norm but double depth winerack’s (533 mm) built to hold two bottles in each opening can also be made to order, if required. Double depth wine rack example All wine racks are constructed from galvanised steel (1.2 mm thick) and solid natural pine, although if required, Dark Oak, Mahogany or Black stains are available at no extra charge (pictured below). The wine racks stand, without fixing, on a level floor, however, eyelets are provided in case fixing to a wall should be deemed necessary (and this is strongly recommended wherever possible). Wine racks that do not stand directly on the floor should have strong additional supports underneath, such as a shelf or brackets.
When ordering please check that the wine racks overall measurements, if constructed in one piece, can be handled easily through any doorway or around corners etc. to reach its final destination. If this is not the case, the wine racks can be manufactured in appropriate sizes and joined with connecting kits which are attached very easily by the customer after delivery, with no adverse effects on the final look or strength of the wine racks after installation. If the wine rack needs to be split into two or more pieces for either ease of access or handling, then please note the rack is always split and connected vertically only and never horizontally, because of the bottle weight factor. | A wine rack connecting kit is sufficient to complete 12 bottle holes high and consists of 12 nails, 3 long steel strips and 13 steel connecting strips. Each kit costs £4.50 (including vat).

The plinths are made to 5mm wider than the wine racks they are supporting. The wooden plinths have been designed to fit beneath your traditional wine racks giving the entire racks some added support and also gives the bottom rows of bottles protection from dirt and damage from accidental knocking. Plinths are constructed from grade ’A’ furniture pine and stained to match your racks. Connecting Kits To connect the racks you need to:- - Stand the racks to be connected side by side and face the back of these racks.
- Remove the 4 existing nails, 2 either side of the space to be connected, in 3 separate places strategically within the 12 spaces to be connected i.e. rows 1, 6, and 12
- Position the long steel strips to ’join’ the two racks and spaces and refix with the new nails provided.
- When steps 1 to 3 are complete, simply tap the small steel connecting strips into place at the front of the rack.
- Fix the rack to the wall with either: a) screws directly into the wall through the predrilled holes in the 45 degrees angled steel fixing plates at the back of the rack, or b) by screwing the rack to horizontal wooden battens positioned on the wall in line with the predrilled holes in the steel fixing plates.
N.B. If the batten system is used, then steps 1 to 4 above are not needed, as the racks simply need to be fixed to the battens with an appropriate gap to allow the connecting strips to be tapped home. COST The price of wine racks are per bottle holes.
