Coutale Sommelier was founded in 2002 by French winemaker Philippe Bernède, the owner of Clos La Coutale. Clous La Coutale is one of the most highly acclaimed vineyards in South France.  All of Coutale Sommelier corkscrews are designed by Philippe Bernède.

Philippe Bernède had become increasingly frustrated by poorly-made corkscrews. After a day of struggling to open wine at a wine tasting event, he became determined to create the perfect corkscrew. His design is now more commonly known as The Coutale Sommelier Corkscrew.

The Coutale Sommelier Corkscrew won the gold medal at the International Inventions Show at Geneva in 2005. It was also awarded the silver medal at the International Inventions Show in Paris. Since then, the Coutale corkscrew has grown from strength to strength. These corkscrews are now exported worldwide. Over recent years, Philippe Bernède has developed the ranges on offer, including the premium corkscrew, the barman with its bottle opener function and the prestige models.

Coutale Sommelier corkscrews are now a complete line of corkscrews excelling in design, function and style. The patented spring-loaded, double lever corkscrews are a welcome addition to the wine industry. The lever adds ease, control and power to your uncorking experience.

The corkscrews are also affordable and long-lasting, ideal for any occasion, whether at a picnic or kept in your kitchen drawer. They are distributed and retailed in more than 20 countries, including Europe, Australia, the USA and the UK. Coutale Sommelier offers quality, excellence and reactivity to all of their clients’ needs.

Wineware is pleased to offer Coutale Sommelier corkscrews in a few variations of colour and design.
