Whether you’re a gin enthusiast or you’re looking to try something new, this is the ultimate guide to the nations favourite botanical spirit!

It’s World Gin Day on 12th June, and we’ve put together a guide for the perfect glassware to enjoy your gin and tonic, as well as our favourite gin cocktail recipes and gin distilleries to visit in the UK!

According to Kantar (data insight company), gin is now the UK’s favourite spirit! Over a quarter of the nation’s population having purchased a bottle of gin in the last 12 months, it has now overtaken Whisky in the popularity stakes. In addition, there has been an increase in younger consumers (18-24 years old) opting for Gin over Beer, choosing to drink less but drink better.

With fewer people now drinking at the pub and opting to consume at home instead, we’re looking to drink specific glassware to enhance our drinking experience. Therefore, we’ve listed some of the best glasses explicitly designed for you to enjoy your favourite gin that little bit more!

Best Glasses for Gin and Tonic

Gin glasses are expertly designed to strengthen the fresh and crisp flavour of gin. The modern copa gin glasses are shaped with a large and wide bowl to heighten aroma and enhance flavour, making for a perfect gin and tonic. In addition, these wide bowl gin glasses allow lots of garnishes and ice to be thrown in with the mix to make the gin come alive.

So whether you’re adding a slice of cucumber or some zesty orange or lime into the mix, these glasses are ideal for the gin drinker who likes a garnish and plenty of cool ice. Alternatively, a traditional highball style gin glass is a perfect all-rounder for long gin drinks, making them a practical and versatile choice of glassware for a wide range of gin cocktails.
